When asked “What does the Quilter’s Guild of Greater Kansas City mean to me?” These were some answers.

“A wonderful break and source of inspiration, I’m not yet in a season of my life where I can dedicate a lot of time to quilting, but I love to play at my sewing machine when I can! However, because of this guild, I have finished several projects, ventured into new designs and colors, and have even started down the path of machine quilting.”—

“So many talented quilt artists— it’s a quilt show every month! Lots of friendly people willing to help with new ideas and techniques. I like the featured quilters that are members”—

“Interaction with other quilters! Learning new things and being reminded about forgotten ones. Friendships.”—

“The Quilters Guild of Greater Kansas City is my mini-stay-cation. To be around like-minded people helps me to continue to create and to quilt and to complete.”—

I have learned so much from our members. Not only concerning all the facets of quilting but also organization of a guild. I got involved in a committee right away and then accepted chair positions. My experiences here have been very valuable to me and allowed me to be able to help a new guild grow and raise funds. QG of GKC has strong leaders and willing members to keep our guild interesting and relevant. I’ve met some wonderful women through our guild which is really the best part of membership.”—P.C.

“A delightful mixture of friendship, ideas and inspirations!”—K.T.

To me it is a monthly opportunity to learn new things about quilting and to be inspired; view the beautiful quilts that others share in ‘Show and Tell’.”—F.C.

“The guild means to me: learning, fun, friendship and knowledge about quilting.”—

When I moved to the Kansas City area from a small community I had trouble making new friends. But when I joined the guild a year later that problem was solved!”—
